GOT7 Debut
JYP first announced GOT7 on January 1st, 2014 as his first boy group since 2pm in 2008. GOT7 was described as a hip-hop group that incorporated martial arts ticking and b-boying styles into their performance. This style did draw a comparison with their senior group, 2pm, who are well known for their acrobatic dances that wowed their fans time and time again.
JJP were already known across the world as a famous duo but the final five members were introduced in different ways. Mark, Jackson, Bambam and Yugyeom where first announced in a dance battle between two rival companies JYP and YG with their amazing martial arts choreography to Usher’s Caught up.

Youngjae however, was only announced to the public when he debuted with GOT7. After only being trained for 7 months in comparison to the other years of dedication, many questioned JYP’s choice, but they soon understood the choice when their debut stage was aired. Youngjae’s amazing vocals overshadowed his lack of skills in dance.
Though on January 16, 2014 GOT7 made their official music program debut with their single “Girls, Girls, Girls”. Shortly after this debut they signed a contract with Japans Sony Music Entertainment and launched a showcase in Japan in front of 9,000 fans. Since then they have been continuously releasing albums in not only Korea but also Japan which includes singles such as Love Train, Laugh Laugh Laugh and Moriagatteyo.
On January 20, 2014 the group released their first EP named Got it? Which quickly shot to the #1 spot on Billboards world Albums Chart.
JUS2
JUS2 was another sub-unit that debuted under GOT7 in 2019 with their album Focus. This was the collaboration between Jaebeom and Yugyeom, a duo that was quickly nicknamed the Leader, Maknae duo due to their positions in the group.
On February 13 JYP announced this group and revealed a short teaser that left fans wondering who the sub-unit was to include and what their concept was for the album. Though it didn’t take ahgase’s long to figure out that it was the stern yet goofy leader and the playful youngest that joined together to release an album that many fans fell in love with worldwide.
The music video for the title song was released on March 3 which followed with countless stage performances broadcasted across Korean as well as being placed on Youtube.
Focus was released on March 5 and contained 6 tracks including “Focus on Me” as their title track. “Focus” was then debuted on the Billboard World Album Chart at number 6.
